Can I turn my payment in late?
No. You must adhere to the payment due dates. We must be in compliance with our tour company policies in order to ensure that our reservations are made and kept.
What if I lose the paperwork?
New paperwork can be found on our website or in the main office.
Can parents attend the trip as chaperones?
At this time, we do not allow parents to chaperone.
How many students in a group/room?
There are four students per room and eight students per group. Each group has one adult chaperone.
How do students choose roommates?
In March, students will complete a selection form with their roommate preferences. Most of the time students will room with the people they chose, but it is NOT guaranteed.
How do groups get paired up with chaperones?
We do our best to give chaperones a group of kids who they know, either as teachers, coaches, advisors, etc.
Who are the chaperones? How many are there?
All of our chaperones are board-hired staff members. Most are teachers, but we also take support staff, secretaries, coaches, etc. We also take a school board-approved nurse.
How do I get in contact with my student?
If you sign up for Remind (see our website for more information), you will receive regular texts while we are on the trip. You can also follow us Twitter @nracohtrip
You will also be provided with a list phone of numbers for the tour company, our hotel, the bus company, the school, and an emergency cell phone that will be with one of the trip administrators for the duration of the trip. All of the chaperones have cell phones and can contact each other as well. If you need your student in the event of an emergency, we will be able to contact him or her.
Your child is also permitted to bring a cell phone if the appropriate paperwork is completed. However, students will not be permitted to have cell phones on the busses or in the hotel rooms, so you may not be able to contact your child at certain points during the trip. We also encourage you to contact your child as seldom as possible in order for your child to have his or her first independent experience!
What safety measures are taken?
To be sure that all students are accounted for during the trip, the adult to student ratio is 1:8. We bring a school nurse with us, who is not assigned to a specific group, making it easier for her to be able to access any students. The nurse is also in charge of all prescription medication.
Students are always within eye-sight of their chaperone.
Students are on floors in the hotel according to gender, and chaperones are on the same floors. Students’ rooms are checked at night by the chaperones and cameras and cell phones are collected. Chaperones tape the doors of each hotel room, and hired security guards are on duty in the halls while we are asleep.
Students wear color-coordinated shirts in order to be seen easily in large crowds. Chaperones wear opposing colors to help students pick out chaperones in large crowds.
All school board policies for overnight field trips are followed.
Can medication be sent?
Medication can be sent as long as our policies are followed. Correct paperwork and medication must be turned in by the appropriate due dates. (See the “Payments & Important Dates” tab on the website for more information). Please note that ALL medication, including over-the-counter and prescription medication, must be accompanied by the correct form signed by a doctor.
What are students allowed to wear?
Students will be issued three t-shirts to wear on the trip. All other articles of clothing must be in compliance with school dress code as printed in the student handbook. Students are strongly encouraged to wear athletic shoes in order to handle the amount of walking that will be done.
How do they wake up in the morning?
They may bring portable alarm clocks, or arrange for a wakeup call from the hotel system. The chaperones will also wake up their students one hour before they need to be at breakfast.
What do they eat?
Students eat a continental breakfast in the hotel on the second and third days of the trip. They will eat at buffet-style restaurants and have choices in the food courts that we visit. On Thursday, we will eat a pizza, salad, and wing buffet during their bowling party. They will also be given snacks on the bus and are permitted to bring their own snacks as well.
Can I bring food on the bus?
Students may bring food and drinks that can be CLOSED. Dairy and glass are prohibited.
How big can my suitcase be?
Students may bring one “carry-on” sized piece of luggage (something that would fit in the overhead bin of an airplane), which will be stored under the bus on the way to and from our hotel Wednesday and Friday, and one small bag for the bus (drawstring bag, tote bag, etc.). Purses should NOT be brought because they will not be allowed to carry anything around.
What can my child carry around?
Students may carry their phones/cameras and money, but all should be able to fit in pockets. Ladies may carry a small purse, if necessary, no bigger than the size of a business-size envelope.

Your child will not need any money on the trip. The cost of the trip covers anything he/she might need; however, money for souvenirs is permitted. Just remember, any money you send with your child will probably be spent.
